Veg Wheat Upma

Healthy Breakfast

Ingredients
1 inch ginger
1 small onion cut into thin slices
cumin seeds,
Carrots
Beans(optional i didnt have so i didnt added)
peas
peanuts
cashews
oil
salt
mustard seeds
chenna dal
Uradh dal
Broken wheat fine

Preparation:
1. Take a kadai pour oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, ginger, chenna dhal, uradh dhal, cashews, peanuts, beans, peas, carrots fry it well.
2. Add 1 glass of water boil it with salt.
3. Add the broken wheat and stir it well.
4. Serve hot with chutney.

Baked fish steak with salad and Chick peas

Ingredients

1 kg Fish steak clean with turmeric like applying and washing with water.
Apply the required salt, chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, little bit ginger garlic paste.
Marinate whole night in fridge
Preparation :

1. Pre-heat the oven for 10 min at maximum degree under fan forced.
2. Reduce the heat to 150 C .
3. Take a non stick baking tray cover with aluminium foil spray the oil and place the fish steak bake until it cooked both sides.


Salad

Lettuce and carrots


Chick peas
soaked over night and pressure cooked with salt.

I tried one more different variety

Methi leaves with dal

Ingredients

1 frozen methi leaves one cube
1/2 cup Toor dal
2 -3 green chilli
curry leaves
Garlic pod - 2
Tamarind juice
Chilli powder
coriander powder

seasoning
few channa dal
few uradh dal
curry leaves
garlic
mustard seeds


Preparation:
1. Pressure cook the dal with methi leaves, green chilli.
2. Take a kadai pour oil add seasoning ingredients and tamarind juice.
3. Add cooked dal.



Cauliflower Fry with Bell peppers

Ingredients

1 Cauliflower cleaned
1 bell pepper or 2 color bell peppers
salt
turmeric
garlic
2 cloves
bay leaves
onion small cut into slices

Preparaton:
1. Microwave the Flower until it become soft with water. Keep aside.
2. Take kadai pour oil add curry leaves, cloves,bay leav, onion slices fry it well.
3. Add cauliflower and bell pepper .
4. Fry it after half cooked add chilli powder, coriander powder salt.

Fish Fry (silver Whiting)

Silver Whiting fish is very yummy for fry.
Ingredients

Silver whiting
turmeric
Chilli powder
coriander powder
salt
oil

Preperation:

1. Take silver whiting fish and clean with turmeric.
2. Marinate the fish with all the ingredients.
3. Fry the fish in oil.

Pepper Chicken drumstick fry

My husband loves pepper recipes so i always make pepper recipes.

Ingredients
6 pieces of chicken drum sticks
ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
1 small onion
1 small tomato
pepper corns - 1 tea spoon
fennel seeds
cloves -2
cinnamon stick - 1 1/2 inch
bay leaves -1
green chili  - 3
cardamon - 2
for garnish spring onions


Preparation:
1. Clean the chicken with turmeric and keep aside.
2. Take a kadai pour oil add fennel seeds, mustard seeds, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamon, bay leaves, green chilli, pepper corn fry it.
3. Fry the onions.
4. Fry the tomato.
5. Fry the ginger garlic paste.
6. Grind it well after get cold.
7. Now add masala to kadai and fry it until it become thick and add the chicken drum sticks keep medium flame on open lid fry it but turn without burning( reduce the turns).
8. Garnish with Spring onions.

Fish Curry (perch)

This fish is different than others so we have to do curry like mutton and chicken without tamarind juice. My dad favorite fish this one, it tastes yummy.
Ingredients
3 -4 small size fishes
1 big onion
1 medium tomato
ginger garlic - tea spoon
garam masala - 1/4 tea spoon
 curry leaves
chilli powder coriander powder - 1 1/2 tea spoon


Preparation:
1. Take a kadai fry the onion slices and tomato slices.
2. Mash it once it cld down.
3. Add oil to kadai , add curry leaves and fry it.
4. Apply turmeric to fish pieces rinse with water.
5. Add mashed masala fry it again.
6. Add ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder.
7. Add water and salt.
8. Add the Fish pieces to it and close the lid under low flame cook it until fish pieces cook well.

Chicken Pakora

My elder son loves chicken pakora like anything , he likes to eat every day.

Ingredients
1/2 kg Chiken boneless
1 table spoon Gram flour
1/4 table spoon of Rice flour
1/4 table spoon of corn flour
Green chilies slices -4
Onion long slices - 1 big
salt - Required
Curry leaves  - few
Tandoori Food color
Baking soda pinch
Oil for frying

Preparation:
1.Take a wide vessel add one by one mix well marinate 2 minutes
2. Take a kadai pour oil and on medium flame.
3. Fry the little amount of meat fry it well until it turns crispy.
4. I mostly serve as a evening Snack or some guests visit my home then i make it.

Easy Idiyappam with Chicken Kurma







After my marriage i tasted this one at Kerala that was the first time till that time i never heard the name and never ate. You will find this in Tamilnadu and Kerala side. I tried when i was India but it will take bit hard and take time. After moving to Australia when i was searching for the right flour in the grocery story one women suggested me easy idiyappam mix and i tried it unbelievable so easy and very quick.
For steam cooking i used Electric rice cooker and Idiyappam holders please see the picture above.
If you those things in wooden one it will be very good.


Ingredients:

MDK Idiyappam String Hopper Flour (wheat or Rice)
Normal Water(Room temperature)
1.Take a wide vessel pour the required flour add little by little water make a nice dough and cover with wet cloth keep aside.
2. Switch on the Electric Rice Cooker with half level of water in the Vessel boil the water.
3. Take Vegetable Steamer tray of the Electric rice cooker place it.
4. Take a hopper machine press the hoppers in the hopper holder and keep the holders in the Electric rice cooker Vegetable steamer rack and cook for 2 or 3 minutes until it wont stick to your hands.
5. Shift those in hot pack and again use hopper machine for next hopper.


Chicken Kurma:
Ingredients
1 kg Skin less Chicken
1 table spoon Gingerly oil
few curry leaves
1 inch cinnamon stick
cloves 3
Cardamom cloves- 2
Poppy seeds - few
mint leaves - few
Coriander leaves - few
1 large onion cut into slices
2 medium size tomatoes
curry leaves - few
Turmeric -pinch
Chilli Powder - Required
Coriander Powder - Required
Pepper seeds
Cumin seeds
Mustard seeds
Green chillies
Salt
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tea spoons

Preparation:
1. Clean the chicken applying turmeric and clean with water.
2. Take a vessel pour gingerly oil add mustard seeds, cinnamon, Cloves, Cardamom , Cumin seeds, Green Chillies,curry leaves, poppy seeds, pepper seeds, fry it and add onion slices fry until it turns golden brown and add tomato slices fry it.
3. Cool it and mash like a pate.
4. Take a Pressure cooker keep mashed masala and chicken all remaining ingredients except coriander leaves with i small cup of water and pressure cook on medium flame for one whistle.
5. Garnish with coriander leaves rice with rice, Idly, Dosa, Idiyappam e.t.c



We can make Red String hoppers by using Red Rice u will get the flour in the stores
